Playstation 3 specs released

Sony released information on the Playstation 3 yesterday at Sony’s Pre-E3 conference. Many of the features are like the Xbox 360 with a few differences.
The Playstation 3 will have a PowerPC-base core running at 3.2GHz which is suppose to be two times more powerful that the Xbox 360’s three processors. It will have 256MB of RAM which is half of what the amount of the Xbox 360 contains (512MB).
Like the Xbox 360, the Playstation will have wirless controllers. You will be able to connect upto seven bluetooth wireless controllers. There will be built in wireless networking support which the Xbox 360 will have as well.
GamePro says that the demonstration of the Playstation 3 was noticeably better than the Xbox 360 mainly in the lighting and shadow areas.
Playstation 3’s controller is shaped like a boomerang and looks a lot like Microsofts Sidewinder controller for the PC. I’ve never heard of the sidewinder but I guess it failed.
The Xbox 360 has more features than just gaming which Sony didn’t mention a whole lot about that. Microsoft may have the upper hand here by appealing to a larger market.
