Almost setup!

I have installed Windows 2000 and all of the drivers on this new computer. Still need to install Firefox, all of the stupid messengers, and everything else that I use.

I was hoping to get SuSE installed but I think my DVD drive is messed up. For some reason it will install the 32 bit version of SuSE just fine but not the 64 bit. I’m thinking that the 64 bit might be on the second layer of the DVD and the drive is having problems reading that layer. I’m thinking I’ll go buy another drive tomorrow to see if that fixes the problem. Hopefully it will.

I just love the frustrations of building/setting up a new computer ;)

You probably already know this, but instead of installing more than one messenger client, why not install a multi-IM client, like Gaim or Trillian? That way, you won’t take so much space on your HDD (though total it may not be a considerable amount).

Good choice with Windows 2000 though. AFAIK it’s the most recent Windows OS that will actually run 16-bit apps.

I do use Trillian but I also need to install XChat and MSN Messenger (so I can play games :) ). I have a 250gb hard drive so I’m not going to worry about how much space I have used.
