Qwest == Idiots!

Today when I got home from school, I noticed that the phones said that the line was in use. I didn’t think anything of it until I turned my computer on and tried to check my email which didn’t work. I thought maybe the modem lost connection so I tried reconnecting that which didn’t work. Then it hit me, check the phone to see if there is a dial tone, which there wasn’t. So here I am, no phone, no internet.
Using another phone we called Qwest to get a guy out to the house to check it out. We had done the checks to make sure it wasn’t anything within our house that was causing the problems. Of course they said a guy would show up before 8 o’clock in the evening of the next day. I was highly doubtful that he would show up tonight.
This lasted for about 6 almost 7 hours when we received a call from Qwest. Apparently Qwest had pulled our plug on accident. I wish they would have checked it twice before pulling one so that they made sure they got the right one.
Now we are wondering what the third thing is that is going to happen. Saturday our garage door opener broke and now this today. I just hope that third thing isn’t anything big.
I need to work on my rants …

Reminds me of a local friend of mine–their power went out because apparently the electric company was pulling the plug (no pun intended) of someone who hadn’t paid their bills–but they did it to the wrong house. The electric company said it would take 3 days to get the power back up AND their family would have to pay the company a $75 reconnection fee to resolve the COMPANY’s error! Them damn stupid corporations (and I don’t use swear words like that lightly).
