Work Sucks, I know

I can’t even take a sick day or go to the doctor without getting a phone call from the art director who is freaking out.
I’m the only person that does web programming in the company so I can’t really take a sick day or a vacation.
I’m well underpaid for what I am worth.
I have no money. Credit card is maxed and I only have about $25 in checking.
I’ve been doing odd jobs here and there just to get gas money.
I only get paid once a month.
Yesterday the exhaust on my car became very loud. I think there is a hole or something so I’ll have to get that fixed but no money.
I need to get the timing belt replaced.
I need to replace the A/C belt tension wheel on my car so that it doesn’t squeak.
I have no appetite. I have to force myself to eat.
I’m losing weight and I have no weight to lose.
Everyone wants everything now at work. Sorry, my magic wand isn’t working today.
I work in this building that is always over 80 degrees F. Very uncomfortable.
The owner has so many companies and projects. I feel like we are neglected.
I want to get an apartment but can’t afford it.
I’m not sleeping well.
All the time I get “I need you to be more reliable.”
I’m so sick of work. I need more money and another programmer here so that I can take days off.

Sounds like your company is screwing you. If you really are that important to them, ask for a raise or you’re leaving. Chances are , giving you even a measly 1$/hr raise is still cheaper then rehiring/training a new programmer…. either that or slack off a little. If they ask why you’re not able to finish all your work, make up some techno lingo that will tell them to pay you for overtime or hire some help… it’s not like they’re going to know wtf you’re talking about anyways
