Website Browsing Question

Have you ever visited a message board and saw that it uses a certain software and decided not to participate on that message board because of what bulletin board software is was running?
For example, you visit website A and see that it is running vBulletin. You think, ugh, vBulletin, what a piece of crap and quickly leave the site. Website B is using Invision Board and you think OMG, I love you Invision board! so you decide to visit the site every spare second available to you.
Of course if it is a phpBB board then everyone always wants to visit that site every time they can. ![]()

My answer to your question would be no, never. It’s the content on a site that matters, not what software they’re using. All I care about is that I can use the content, I can access the content, and I don’t have to jump through hoops to do it on a typical user’s point of view.
Now, because of my involvement with phpBB, I do take notice of bulletin board software a slight bit more than other types of sites, but it doesn’t stop me from using the site. I couldn’t care less if a site was using WordPress or Drupal, and I really don’t have that big of a problem with a site using IPB or vBulletin or phpBB or something.

Got to agree with Doug on this.
While I’m not currently active on any non phpBB boards (in fact, I’m really not active on any boards that aren’t located at *.phpbb.com), I have been an active participant on plenty of other boards running various software. I don’t hold that against the community (although I actively campaign against UBB.Threads because it is ugly++)
