MODs Manager AKA Blinky AKA EasyMOD for phpBB3

February 6th, 2008, 12:37 pm

Part of phpBB switching over to SVN for version control a code forge was created. Recently we moved MODs Manager (code name blinky) to this public repository so people can follow progress of it.

Blinky is an automatic modification installer for phpBB3. Some of you may be familiar with EasyMOD which is an automatic modification installer for phpBB2. Blinky aims to be better than EasyMOD and work on phpBB3. We plan on adding a number of new features including an uninstaller and being able to browse external databases from within Blinky.

I’ll provide more updates as they happen but in the mean time, subscribe to the commits mailing list.

It’s not geek. You just have to know about phpBB and then this will probably make sense.

I backup Sarah, i cannot fully understand the post, and i have my PHPBb2 board and another PHPBB Olympus board. And i install mods manually without the crappy r.i.p.-easymod.

Are you going to open an mod-best-dev for phpbb 3 now?

    Hi Eric,

I’m glad I found you and that you’re still active online.

I am using your Admin Userlist 2.0.2 MOD on my phpBB2 v.2.0.22 forum and I have a question for you.

I have over 700 SPAM accounts to delete but when I try to do so I have to select them one at a time. I configured the MOD to show 200 per page hoping there’d be a select all button but there isn’t.

Is there an easy way of selecting multiple accounts/page and deleting them?

Thank you for this great MOD, it is very useful and comes in handy all the time.

Hey how easy is it to install mods with it…and how do you install Mod Manager itself? Just upload the files?

Well…after all these years the bb team finally finds out that installing MODs automatically by Vbullitin is much more user friendly, convnient and saves us time.. Great it took you seven years to realize that ? Good lord, I remember using Easy Mod for phpbb 2.0.22 and it sucked. Most of the Mods never fully installed, the ones that did had 80% chance of having and error…. you guys should concentrate on this feature rather then updating phpbb3.4 to the next version itself… It will be great if itcan work as a simple plugin / mos installed that wont get so many errors… or other wise we can always use the pre modded phpbb boards aye ?

    Thanks
