Cooking is Hard

I’ve decided that I want to cook dinner instead of grabbing fast food, heating up some soup or slapping something together real quick. I’m decent at baking so I figured cooking shouldn’t be too bad. Boy was I wrong. Tonight after talking to my Mom I attempted to fry some chicken and make potatoes with gravy. I ruined the gravy and forgot to cook the peas I wanted to have with it. The chicken wasn’t good but it wasn’t bad. All that hard work for nothing. Cooking is nothing like baking. Too much can go wrong and you don’t get a sweet treat like I’m use to after baking.

I do make some simple casseroles which are good. If anyone has easy recipes that don’t make tons of food (it’s only for me) then I would love to have them. I’ll make brownies or cookies for you.

My new neighbors must hate me

Since moving into this new apartment I have:

Triggered the fire alarm when using the stove which was covered in grease. I don’t know if all of them in the building went off but I heard the people above me start moving around. I now know that it doesn’t take very much to trigger it.
Accidentally hit the panic button for my car while my keys are in my pocket. Mostly late at night.
Cat running around loudly early in the morning. Also hitting her mouse against the walls making lots of noise and meowing nonstop.
Leaving and coming home late at night with the loud exhaust on my car.

Everyone else is very quiet except for me. That’s fine with me. I got what I wanted.

Moved

I moved. My cat moved. And my stuff moved. I’m very busy unpacking and can’t be bothered to entertain you freaks. Be glad I posted this much.

Moving to a new Apartment

This past week has been spent packing in preparation for moving to a new apartment tomorrow. Well hopefully move into. Yesterday I was suppose to sign the lease. I went there and no one was there. For the next couple of hours I called every once in a while and no answer. Back when I paid the deposit they said someone would be there. That doesn’t make me feel good. I’m hoping no one was there because it is a holiday weekend. Tomorrow I’ll be moving for sure either to the new apartment or to my parents.

My neighbors above me have a dog. Some sort of terrier I believe. This dog does not know how to bark. When I say that, he barks but not like a normal dog. His bark sounds like his legs are getting ripped off. Anybody walks by him and he sounds like he is getting put in a blender making you want to put a shotgun to his head to put him, and you, out of his misery.

The worst is getting woken up by a dog getting killed. Makes me want to go rip his legs off just so he actually has something to yelp about.

There are ants in my kitty’s pants!

Wake up in the morning after a bad night of sleep. Cat meowing all night, upstairs neighbors vacuuming at midnight. Feel like crap. Go to the kitchen to make sure the cat has food in her dish and it’s full of ants! Swear. Dump food into garbage can. Grab lighter and start burning ants.

All of the ants in my apartment are dead or dying. Hop in shower. Get out of shower and see the screen in the window has been pushed out. Cat is no where to be found. Swear again. Get worried that cat has run away. Quickly get dressed and hurry outside. Look for cat and find her in bushes near the window. She didn’t get far. Cat is scared so she won’t let me get close. Have to scare her back through the window into the apartment. Close all windows and vow not to open them again. Cat acts like nothing happened and she is my best friend although minutes before she wouldn’t let me get close to her.

Go to work ready for the day to be over since I already had all the excitement I can take in one day.

Upstairs

There can’t be a baby or little kid upstairs. It’s 11:30 at night and they are vacuuming. Definitely no kids or they are terrible parents …

Neighbors

Whoever is above me recently decided to walk a lot. Especially at two in the morning. So loud and annoying. All l day and night they walk and walk and walk. It’s starting to drive me nuts.

Edit: I hear a baby! That explains the pacing at weird hours of the night. Now I feel like a jerk…
