I got my AP Statistics test results today. I got a 4 out of 5. Much better than what I was expecting. I thought I had failed the test. Multiple choice section was easy but the free response … ouch. I’m way happy about that score.
More great news, I got my first (well second) pay check today. It was my first full pay check but the second one I got. Only worked for a few hours for last months pay check. I’m not sure I like getting paid only once a month. Oh well, it makes big pay checks.
“You’ll have to speak up, I’m wearing a towel.” – Homer Simpson
I’m watching the Simpsons right now so thats why the random quote.
Its been a fun, boring, and interesting month. We’ll see if I still like programming and if its what I want to do for the rest of my life. It can be fun but it can also be very boring.
The 4th was pretty fun. Lots of relatives were in town that I haven’t seen for a while. In the morning we went to breakfast and watched the parade. This year there were actually floats instead of people riding in the back of a truck or something like that. During the day there was a family reunion. We sat around and talked for a long time. Kinda boring. After we ate we lit lots of fireworks and played some games but that ended when a surprise thrunder storm came from no where. The storm cleared out and we were able to go to the fireworks at night.
Got some new speakers for my truck <3. I’m having a hard time tuning everything though. I can listen to one song, it sounds great and later listen to the same song with the same settings and it sounds like crap. My ears are probably messed up.
Hanging out with a bunch of 14 year old girls, not fun …
I’ve rambled long enough. Time for bed, goodnight.

I got a job. I never did blog about this but it is at a design studio. My title is Jr. Web Developer. I program websites for their clients. Tomorrow I start working full time. Before I have been working only part time. I’m liking the job so far. Its exactly what I enjoy doing and it has lots of potential for me. I hope I can work there for a long time.
Last Friday was graduation. I’m now a highschool graduate! Yay! Now on to the real world … joy … I thought I had more to say about this but I guess I don’t. I need to get to bed. I haven’t had a full nights sleep for a couple of nights now. Been out partying too much.

Last week in my current issues class we started a video about Harvey Milk, the first elected official that was openly gay. Today my teacher was telling us that after class lat time, a student had called home and said they were going to vomit because the video we were watching had homosexual sex in it. This was a lie. The video had gay couples kissing and that is it. Nothing worse than that.
Because of that, the video was confiscated and the district has to review it before the teacher can have it back. He says that he probably won’t get it back until sometime in the summer.
Its makes me sad that people can’t realize that gay rights is an issue of today and they may not like it but they’ll have to deal with it some day. The teacher was pretty anger and I’d bet that most of the class was as well. What an immature jerk.

People often talk about being a friend to everyone. Does this happen, not at my school … my high school isn’t very accepting of anyone. Groups only hang out with people from the same group. No one mixes. This is especially bad for me since I don’t have a specific group.
I’m not part of the norm and I know people from every group. All of them are awesome people and its sad to see people that could be great friends not giving it a shot.
This is probably why high school hasn’t been fun for me. I don’t feel accepted anywhere. No one has made an effort to include me. I can’t say I have tried though.
The people that I do hang out with usually only hang out with us but we do sometimes hang out with others. Our group is made up of lots of different people too. We’ve got a stoner/drinker/partier, there’s a redneck, there’s a hardcore chruchy person, there’s me which I guess you could call the nerd, and so on.
Why does this happen? I don’t know. I wish I did.

If everyone would take this survey for me I would appreciate that. Its for a class. Its not the greatest survey but it will get me the points for the class
Yes, I am a slacker.
<edit>Plenty of people have taken it. Thanks everyone that did!
</edit>
Thanks a lot.

At my high school the administrators started a new policy this year where everyonce in a while they do a hall sweep. Hall sweeps occur right after class has started (after the tardy bell). During a hall sweep, anyone who is still in the hall (late/tardy to class) goes to get lunch detention and a slip to let him/her into class.
Today at lunch I got caught in one of these. Right when it was time to head back to school after eating lunch I got a bloody nose. Of course I was late because I had to wait for my nose to stop bleeding. I went back to school, walked into class and the sbustitute teacher (I guess the real teacher was away, I really don’t know) asks me for my yellow slip. I didn’t have one and hearing yellow slip I knew a hall sweep had happened. I left the room and came home for various reasons which I’ll go over later. I had actually wanted to go to class today.
I’m don’t want lunch detetion because I had a bloody nose. I couldn’t control that. I probably could have told them thats why I was late and not have get lunch detention but I don’t like making excuses.
Like today if I have a legit reason for being late, I don’t want to get lunch detention. The other times I am late it is usually because I don’t want to go to class so I hang out in the hall. If a hall sweep is done at these times, its just an excuse for me to ditch class. If there wasn’t a hall sweep, I most likely would go to class, I’d be late but atleast I would be in class.
With hall sweeps, instead of being a couple minutes late, you have to go get a slip to get into class which makes to 10+ minutes late. In most of my classes, nothing is done in the first couple of minutes because the teacher is taking roll or getting things ready. The administrators are forcing me to miss even more class time than I normally would.
There is already a policy in place where if you get four for more tardies, you get a “U” in citizenship which needs to be made up before you can graduate. Teachers also already do bell quizzes and other things like that which you can only take if you are on time. There are plenty of ways to “punish” students who are late. In my opinion, the hall sweeps are an excuse to sluff.

At school I am taking a photography class which I have been scanning and uploading the pictures I have taken, developed, and printed in class. You can find those pictures here. I have different assignments like shutter speed, depth of field and things like that. Go ahead and comment on any of the pictures here. I should look into getting a picture album plugin or something like that for my blog.
Soon there will be a new relese of EasyMOD. No, this won’t be a release of the rewrite but a bug/feature release of the current codebase. We’ve had these new features committed in CVS for a while now and we decided to clean up some bugs and implement a couple new features to coincide with the release of phpBB 2.0.18 (which has been released and you should update immediately if you haven’t already!). A quick note about the rewrite, that is going along smoothly. Should be moving to a public CVS server soon so everyone can follow our progress
Recently we, the phpBB MOD Team, were looking for new members. We have added Fountain of Apples as a validator to help out in the queue and MennoniteHobbit to help moderate the MOD forums and give support.
My cousin got World of Warcraft. It wouldn’t run on his computer (video card problems) so he brought it to my house so he could try it out. Since he can’t play it, he is letting me use his account.
So far it has been a really fun game. I have enjoyed it and I am now addicted. If anyone has it, leave a comment or contact me in some way and we can play together.

I passed both the AP tests I took this year. I got a 3 on the US History test which I am happy I got. I wasn’t sure I was going to pass this one so it is a relief to find out that I did pass. I got a 5 on the BC Calculus test which I already knew I was going to get.
For those that don’t know, AP stands for Advanced Placement tests. They get you College credit while you are still in High School. The scoring is 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. You need a 3 or higher to pass.

deseretnews.com | Computer users at Y. spied on
Thats why you don’t use public computers when viewing private information.
One of my classes I have at a local Technology college instead of the highschool. At this college, the BIOS isn’t password protected and the user account that the teacher setup for me to use on the computer has administrative rights. I get the feeling these guys don’t know how to create a secure system. I could really cause a lot of damage or anyone else could.

Today was the Calculus BC AP test. It wasn’t that bad although I forgot how to do some of the easier things. I felt like I will pass. I hope I do since I got a 5 on both the practice tests that we took in Class. For the readers that don’t know about AP tests, AP stands for Advanced Placement so they are harder classes. The highest you can get is a 5 and you have to get atleast a 3 to pass. AP tests are ways you can get university credit without going to a university.
Friday I take the United States History AP exam. I here this one is really hard and I am struggling with it. I really don’t feel like studying. We have take four practice tests and I have gotten three 2s and one 3. That one 3 I got was one point away from being a 2. I’m really worried that I’m not going to pass.
I have a couple of ideas for the new layout. One is a dark red and the other is a light peachy color. I may decide not to use those and go back to the old yellowish orange layout. We’ll see. It probably will be a while before I start to code it.
I am thinking about selling what I have done on XtroCMS and let someone else finish it. Thinking ahead, I don’t think I will have the time that will be required to provide support and update XtroCMS properly. If you know of anyone who would be interested, have them contact me.
<edit>XtroCMS has been sold. More information on this in a couple of weeks</edit>
I’ll be posting more later when what it involves has been made public.
