Sex and the city bus

Deseret Morning News | Sex and the city bus
Haha. Didn’t African Americans fight to make it so this wasn’t happening to them? Yeah guys shouldn’t harass women but I don’t think segregation is the way to solve the problem. It’s just going to make the men mad and not teach them a lesson.

Is there really a bad problem with men harassing women in public? I’m not a woman and I don’t harass women so I wouldn’t know.

State of the Union

January 28th, 2008, 08:27 pm

I’m watching the Democrat’s response to the Presidents State of the Union. This lady looks like a puppet. She is stiff as a board and has not taken her eyes off of the teleprompter at all. At least Bush has some personality when giving a speech even if he is being an idiot. Makes him much more fun to watch.

Semi on subject. Crazy coworker found out I’m not registered to vote and she made me register. I didn’t realize until later that I left the forms on my desk. I’ll have to take them to the post office tomorrow.

Rant About Work

January 18th, 2008, 07:29 pm

When giving me designs to code into HTML please make sure the file you give me is the completed, final, everything is in there. Look over it and make sure you didn’t miss anything. It is annoying, time consuming and a real PITA having to go back in and add something because you forgot. Especially when it is hours before the deadline the site is suppose to be completed. I’ve got way too much work to do and I can’t be going in and adding little bits and pieces here and there every half hour or so.

Thank you.

Crazy coworker

This crazy coworker of mine added my blog as an icon/short cut thingy to her iPhone. Stalker? I think so…

Just kidding Sarah.

I want to scream!!!

December 3rd, 2007, 03:20 pm

I’ve got 14 items on my list to do at work. Most of those aren’t small websites either but full blown ones. I’ve got account executive emailing and calling me all day long asking when it’s going to be done and giving me more crap to do. I want to scream.

Just found out there is a freelancer here going to help out and he’ll be working on a good number of my projects. Yay!

CSS Position Property

November 14th, 2007, 10:56 pm

Some people have a hard time figuring out the position property in CSS. It took me a while to fully understand it and use it to it’s full potential. Here is some information on it and hopefully you can understand it.

position: relative; positions the element relative to it’s nromal position. An elements normal position is its position in the flow of the page. So top: 5px and left: 30px; will move it down 5 pixels and left 30 pixels from it’s normal position on the page.

position: absolute; moves it to a certain spot within the first parent element that has been positioned before it. This is where it gets tricky. This defaults to the browser window if you haven’t positioned any parent elements. Examples will make this easier for me to explain.

<h1>Positioning Example</h1>
<div style="width: 500px; height: 500px; border: 1px #000000 solid;">parent element
<div style="position: absolute; bottom: 0px; left: 0px">child element</div>
</div>

View Example

In this example, child element will be in the bottom left corner of the browser window although the parent element doesn’t go below 500 pixels or the window is shorter than 500 pixels. The child element will be in the bottom left corner of the browser window even if you can scroll below the page.

<h1>Positioning Example</h1>
<div style="width: 500px; height: 500px; border: 1px #000000 solid; position: relative;">parent element
<div style="position: absolute; bottom: 0px; left: 0px">child element</div>
</div>

View Example

In this example, child element will be in the bottom left corner of the parent element. This is because parent element has now been positioned so it becomes the containing block and position: absolute will move elements around within that block.

Girls Suck

November 8th, 2007, 05:27 pm

Girls suck! I’d have a lot less stress and pain without them. Well without this one girl. ARRRRRGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

On a happy note, I’m moving into an apartment today. First time on my own. Yay! Lots of bills though :(

More boringness at work

October 24th, 2007, 01:21 pm

I’m at work now. Got a little less than three hours to go and I have nothing to do. Worked maybe for about 1.5 hours this morning on some stuff but everything else is waiting on information. There aren’t any new projects for me to start either. I have worked on some personal projects though but I’m getting bored now. Heh.

Yesterday I looked at some apartments and I found one I like. I may move into it. I am going to think about it some more. Need to find out some more information about it and possibly do some more looking.

That’s about all that is new in my life. I want to take a nap.
